I'm happy about the court's decision to allow the deportation of South Sudanese nationals who came to Israel illegally. It is a positive step in the right direction, but it is a small one. There are currently 1,500 South Sudanese infiltrators in Israel, while the number of infiltrators from Sudan is about 15,000 with another 35,000 from Eritrea. As of now, I don't have the authorization, in compliance with the law and the international treaties that Israel has signed, to deport infiltrators back to Sudan, and that is actually our biggest problem. In a meeting with the prime minister it was decided to significantly enlarge the holding facilities where deportees are to be housed. The new facility should be ready within a month or two. I propose erecting another facility so that we are able to detain all 50,000 infiltrators from Eritrea, South Sudan and Sudan together. I assume that most of them will leave voluntarily, but anyone who wants to stay will have to stay in a detention center. Furthermore, we are working toward several legislative actions that will significantly reduce the number of illegal economic migrants coming into Israel. Very soon we will finalize the law that imposes fines on employers who give work to infiltrators, and as soon as the detention facility is ready, we will also be able to enforce the new law. It is important to understand that if the infiltrator situation remains unchanged, we can forget about the word "independence." Some 300 million people live in the Nile basin. Sudan has 35 million citizens and South Sudan has 15 million more. If only a quarter of them come to Israel we are finished. There is no other choice. We must be strong and deport all of them. If not to Eritrea then to a different location. As soon as they understand that there is nothing here for them, they will stop coming. And one more thing about the various aid organizations: All they want is to make Israel a state of all its citizens, removed from its Jewish identity.
