The Michelin Guide, the ultimate foodie bible, has awarded a French restaurant headed by acclaimed Israeli chef Gilad Peled its second Michelin star, less than a year and a half after the restaurant opened its doors.

Le Pressoir d'Argent, in the southwestern French city of Bordeaux, is owned by British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. The restaurant, located on the first floor of the Grand Hotel de Bordeaux, was awarded its first Michelin star after only four months, and has now won its second star.

Ramsay praised Peled and his team on Instagram.

"So proud of Gilad and the team at #LePressoirDArgent for getting our second @michelinguide star in just 17 months! The collaboration of the best of British wine and meats, and France's produce is what makes Le Pressoir what it is today. Bravo guys, can't wait to get back," Ramsay wrote on his Instagram page.

Peled, 32, began his culinary career in 2005 when he graduated from London's Le Cordon Bleu culinary school. He began working for Ramsay in London eight years ago, but returned to Israel after his visa expired, and headed Pushkin, one of Israel's most acclaimed restaurants.

Ramsay, 50, has 31 restaurants around the world and now holds seven Michelin stars, including three at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in Chelsea, one at Petrus in London, and one at Gordon Ramsay au Trianon in Paris. Ramsay is also a television personality known for his fiery temper and blunt comments.
