אחרי חמש שנים נהדרות בקבוצה מהפרמיירליג, בירם כיאל נפרד הערב (רביעי) מברייטון האנגלית. הקשר בן ה-32, שהושאל בעונה האחרונה לצ’רלטון, נפרד מהשחפים בפוסט באינסטגרם בו כתב: "אחרי חמש וחצי שנים הגיע הזמן לסגור את הפרק הזה".
עוד הוסיף כיאל: "אהבתי מאוד את כל הזמנים הטובים שעברנו ביחד, מהצ'מפיונשיפ עד הפרמיירליג ועכשיו הבטחת ההישארות בפעם השלישית ברציפות, זה הישג אדיר. היה מדהים לחלוק אתכם את אותם רגעים מדהימים כשהבטחנו את העלייה לפרמיירליג".
“אני אסיר תודה לכל השחקנים ואנשי הצוות שהפכו לחלק מהמשפחה שלי ואהיה אסיר תודה למועדון תמיד על העובדה הזאת. לסיום אני לא יכול שלא להודות לאוהדים. גרמתם לי ולמשפחתי להרגיש בבית מהרגע הראשון. בכדורגל תמיד יש עליות ומורדות וסבלתי מלא מעט פציעות. אבל תמיד נתתי מאה אחוזים. בהצלחה בעתיד בתקווה שיום אחד עוד נתאחד”.

After 5 and half years, it's time to close this chapter. I have absolutely loved every minute here at Brighton. All the good times we’ve had together, going from the championship to the Premier League and now managing to secure Premier League status for the 3rd year in a row is a huge accomplishment. It was amazing to share those incredible scenes at the Amex when we clinched promotion and at the seafront parade. This is one of the best memories in my career so far, and will last with me forever. I am extremely thankful to everyone at the club, and all of my teammates from over the years, some of whom have become part of my family and i’ll forever be grateful to the club for this. Last but not least I cannot thank the fans enough. You have made me and my family feel at home from the first minute, and Brighton will always feel like my home. With football there are always ups and downs and I had my fair share of injuries etc. but I always gave 100% effort. Brighton you will always be in my heart and will always be my home. Good luck for the future and hopefully one day we will be reunited #bhafc
